Media release: Applications now open for the 2023 Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP)

Applications for the 2023 Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP) have now opened. The three-month program brings together the next generation of young social entrepreneurs from across Southeast Asia and Australia to build business skills for social impact.

Applications are open to social entrepreneurs under 35 years old from Australia and ASEAN member countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam).

The program will run from March to May 2023 and provide 15 social entrepreneurs the opportunity to elevate their professional and leaderships skills. During the program participants will come together in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, for a professional and cultural immersion experience.

The program will build knowledge of scalable and sustainable business models, cultural intelligence and innovative start-up and enterprise methodologies. Participants will network with industry and government leaders and hear from innovators and investors tackling the region’s challenges.

The program is run by the Australian social enterprise Social Good Outpost. Alumni from the program are changemakers from across the region, often leading successful businesses making an impact across diverse sectors, including mental health care, agriculture, the environment, indigenous communities, education and fashion.

A2ELP is a flagship program of the Australia-ASEAN Council, funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
